• 20 percent more new orders than in the previous year
  • Strong demand for the modules “Purchase Success Presentation” and “Purchase Planning”

SoftconCIS’s “WebCIS,” the industry’s first browser-enabled purchasing control system, is in high demand on the market. Thanks to the huge demand, the purchasing controlling specialist recorded a 20 percent increase in new orders in 2013 compared to the previous year. Other success drivers were the “purchasing planning,” “supplier evaluation,” and “purchasing performance” modules. The 360° analysis was also very well received: This joint offering from management consultancy Horváth & Partners and SoftconCIS takes a comprehensive look at purchasing organizations. The partners then recommend strategic and organizational optimizations and identify the overall savings potential. Another trend last year was that, in addition to manufacturing companies, many non-manufacturing companies and corporations, such as those in the insurance industry, are now also turning to strategic purchasing controlling.

“We are delighted to have had one of the strongest years in our company’s history. The market’s first browser-enabled purchasing control system – our WebCIS – has struck exactly the right chord. It combines all the important modules and applications for purchasing experts in a single interface and covers all areas relevant to purchasing. Users can easily access the system via a web browser,“ says Werner Güntner, Managing Director of SoftconCIS. ”In addition, the cooperation with management consultancy Horváth & Partners has paid off handsomely for our customers.”

Nowadays, however, purchasers not only have to do their job well, but also increasingly demonstrate and present their contribution to the purchasing results. “This is a new requirement for purchasers: they must be able to prepare figures and successes, for example for management, in a way that is appealing to the target group – and also visually appealing. Until now, this has been particularly difficult for non-series purchases. Even if the purchaser has negotiated very well, this has been difficult to demonstrate with the conventional tools available. We are responding to this trend with our ‘Purchasing Success Presentation’ module. We look forward to continuing to drive forward professionalization in purchasing in 2014.”
